Beginning in New York this coming December with a ten day public exhibition, Christie’s will launch a series of auctions that will continue until mid-March 2012, with other art objects, clothes, cars and furs going under the hammer. Prior to the auctions, these rare personal items will go on tour in Moscow, London, Los Angeles, Dubai, Geneva, Paris and Hong Kong.
Taylor’s Mansion on the outskirts of Los Angeles will also be auctioned in March with a starting bid of $85 million. It is estimated that the jewellery collection, which includes some of the biggest diamonds in the world, can go up to $600 million. Up to 10 per cent of the profits will go to the Taylor Foundation for AIDS.
