A celebration of iconic 20th century design from the Netherlands, and one of its most well known exponents, Friso Kramer.
This Friday the new 1,500m gallery of Artbrokerdesign will open officially with a double exhibition on Friso Kramer and Dutch design from the 50s and early 60s.
The first display will explore new perspectives on the complete oeuvre of Friso Kramer, including a new chair under construction. All his iconic and lesser known works will be presented in different compositions spread around an impressive hall of the factory.
An influential industrial and furniture designer, Friso Kramer played an significant role in the development of the modernist aesthetic of the Netherlands.
The second exposition is set up as a walking through his collegues of designers and manufacturers that shows the sober, functional yet playfull early post war dutch design.
