Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
An incredibly rare colour lithograph of old world European charm. The artist, Toilpot conveys the beautiful, countryside paradise that is the Pyranees in France. The image was printed in 1903 by J. Minot for the P.O. Affaires Commerciale, to promote tourism to the area.
The image's genius comes from capturing a great deal of the landscape, the painting of every precious detail from the expertly shaded figures, to the blades of grass and the undulating hills. Gaze long enough and the details become so real and immersive, yet the image is not convoluted or glamorous, appealing to those wishing for a simpler time.
The original travel poster, by the discerning and romantic artist Toilpot is more than one hundred years old but is still in superb condition and linen mounted for preservation.
In A- condition - there may be some slight dirt, fold, tears or bubble or other minor restoration, but most unobtrusive, or the poster was folded but is otherwise flawless.
