Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
A rare vintage 1920s leather steamer bag with brass corners. A fantastic piece with a dark brown patina, this bag has seen a lot of action over the years as is evident from the amount of railway station labels at both front and back. Nevertheless this bag has a reinforced steel ridge with a super sturdy undamaged leather handle attached.
The 1920s steamer bag has three leather repair patches that must have been applied in the 1930s or 1940s and they are excellent. At the corners front and rear are four triangular brass reinforcement plates that make this bag a truly beautiful piece.
The steamer bag, a smaller bag designed to go within a trunk, was invented by Louis Vuitton in 1901.
