Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
A superbly presented set of vintage 1920s poker chips by British brand Asprey, circa 1925.
Asprey began as a silk-printing business in the 18th century and has occupied the same premises at 167 New Bond Street since 1867. With patronage from the royal family and employing the finest craftsmen, commissions poured in from across the Empire through the early 20th century. Asprey cigarette cases became collectIble amongst young sophisticates in the 20's who delighted in its modern products, from Art Deco accessories to travel clocks, safety razors and automatic pencil sharpeners. This poker chip set is just one fine example of their novelty collectibles and game ware from this period.
Asprey's poker chip set evokes a time when gambling was a glamorous activity for the upper classes.
