A first edition, first printing of 'The Great Gatsby' published by the Grey Walls Press in 1948. A near fine book (with foxing to the page edges) without inscriptions in a near fine unclipped wrapper which has only minimal wear to the foot of the spine. A superb copy of this title.

Set in 1920s America 'The Great Gatsby' by F Scott Fitzgerald tells the story of Nick Carraway, a young man from the Midwest who moves to the newly wealthy, but unfashionable, suburb of West Egg, Long Island. Carraway finds himself drawn into the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his new neighbour, Jay Gatsby; soon to find himself part of Gatsby's elite circle and bearing witness to obsession and tragedy.

The book was adapted for film in 1974 and starred Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. A new film based on the book, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligen, Isla Fisher and Tobey Maguire, is due for release in December 2012.
