Vintage 1961 Omega Seamaster Date gentleman's wrist watch. 18ct gold 33mm case on leather strap. Calibre 562 automatic movement.

The Omega story began in 1848 at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, when its founder Louis Brandt at the age of 23 opened a comptoir d'etablissage, a sub-contracting sales office for watch manufacture. Over 160 years on, the Omega company holds the the most records for time-keeping. The Omega Seamaster, the first deep-sea diving watch, was released in 1948, and they were intended as 'rugged, high precision sports watches'. Early examples of the model are rarely offered for sale.
