1970 Graham's Port: a rich, silky soft vintage.
The luscious, concentrated, powerful but balanced style of Graham's ports has always been defined by the grapes from Quinta dos Malvedos, one of the Douro's greatest vineyard properties, located in the heart of the region, near Tua.
Known for its abundant rich and ripe berry flavours, good medium tannins and long finish. Graham's is one of the finest wines of the 1970 year, showing all the best characteristics of this rich vintage.
The 1970 vintage is a "beautiful dark amber colour, still remarkably youthful. Beautiful lifted floral aromas on the nose, hints of mint and spice, a slight smokiness. On the palate, still extremely rich and structured, still a vibrancy of tannins, flavours of lovely soft leather, still some plummy black fruit flavours. Absolutely delicious." - Dominic Symington, SFE, 2011
"This particular bottle of port is exemplary, a really fine showing; with an amazingly youthful appearance and a hedonistic, silky mouthfeel of great length". Score: 96+/100 - Roy Hersh, 2011
