Details
Rare vintage 1970s outdoor dining table designed by Pierre Paulin for BORO in Belgium between 1970-1974. The use of ABS plastic in the construction of this table makes it a highly unique piece of funiture.
The top has slight traces of user wear and some white paint drops, the ABS plastic base has two small cracks in the top. This however, does not detract from the otherwise very good condition of this piece.
In Context
The inception of Pierre Paulin's amazing career came at an international furniture show, where he wowed his peers with a contemporary shell fauteull. A freelance arrangement with Artifort then ensued, which developed into a flourishing relationship. From then on he has been an icon in the industry, thanks to his strikingly sculptural designs that set him apart from his peers.
Honoured with the title of "the man who made design an art" by French president Sarkozy, this piece typifies his innovative and ever relevant style.
