Vintage Seekers says
Launched in 1952, the constellation was Omega's deluxe collection of watches, which had a trademark observatory symbol, to reflect that all watches in this collection are Observatory-certified chronometers. This 1972 18ct chronometer features the calibre 1011 automatic movement and integral 18 ct yellow gold bracelet. Described in Omega literature as the 'rounded square' dialled integrated bracelet models, the unorthodox shape of this watch reflected the trend away from circular dials. Armoured hesalite crystal flush with the case creates the illusion of dial and case being of one piece, whilst the faceted markers with large black onyx inserts offer good contrast and stick hands pay homage to the minimalist tastes of the time.
