1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV in Blu Scura with Crema Hide.
Left Hand Drive: EU Supplied: Chassis No: AR2441847
Only 11,942 miles from new
The Alfa Romeo GTV "2000" was introduced in 1971 as a replacement for the hugely popular 1750 range. It was offered as a saloon, a coupe and a spider and became an immediate sales success. Styled by Guigiaro and bodied by Bertone, the delicate balance of bodywork, glass area and chrome was groundbreaking at the time and still appears fresh today. The interior was updated with a new dashboard, featuring separate binnacles for the instruments and some subtly placed wood effect trim highlights replacing the heavy grey crackle finish of earlier vehicles.
Powered by a 1962cc variant of the much loved all aluminium twin-cam, in-line 4 cylinder engine which produced 130 BHP at 5500 rpm, the GTV was a spirited performer which thanks to its 5 speed gearbox was also able to be a long distance tourer. Advanced for its time with the fitment of disc brakes all round as standard and a revised suspension set up from the earlier models, the 2000 GTV was a true all-rounder. A fast, nimble and rewarding sports car to drive "Con Brio", it was a vehicle that was also useable daily, with the ability to carry 4 passengers and luggage over great distances in some comfort and considerable style when required!
Our exceptionally original, low mileage example has covered only 11,942 miles from new and is a most beautifully presented car. Delivered new to northern Italy on the 26th of September 1973 finished in Blu Scuro, (Midnight Blue) with a contrasting Crema interior, it remained in Italy throughout its life, as can be seen from the collection of original documents, including the owner's manual and service book that are offered with the vehicle. Still in its original livery and beautifully detailed both inside and out, this achingly pretty little Alfa Romeo must be seen to be fully appreciated.
This is a unique opportunity to purchase a truly "as new" time warp example of this famous 1970s Alfa Romeo. Available for immediate inspection at our London showrooms, we are delighted to offer this vehicle for sale.
