£375.00 (approx. $593.18)

This is an original US 'half-sheet' poster for the Oscar-winning film 'Rocky' (1976).

Written by Sylvester Stallone, 'Rocky' follows the story of debt collector Rocky Balboa ( Stallone) also known as 'The Italian Stallion'. He gets the opportunity to fight in the World Heavyweight Championship bout opposing the undefeated champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Helping him get ready for the fight are the gym owner Mickey Goldmill (Burges Meredith) and Rocky's best friend Paulie Pennino (Burt Young), whose sister Adrian (Talia Shire) is Balboa's love interest.

Half-Sheets were displayed in the lobbies of American cinemas and this would have been on show during the film's original release in 1976.

This classic design by Mark Salisbury shows Sylvester Stallone as Rocky hand in hand with Talia Shire as Adrian.
