Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
1985 Dow's Port is a full bodied port with aromas of berries and spices.
Dow's was one of the first Port companies to own their own vineyards in the Douro, acquiring the Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira, deep in the Douro Superior, in 1890 and the Quinta do Bomfim near Pinhão in the Cima Corgo in 1896.
For over a century these two quintas have defined the distinctive Dow's style: distinctly drier than many other vintage ports, intense and aromatic with peppery tannins, austere in youth but ageing magnificently and elegantly.
"The 1985 vintage is an excellent ruby colour, with rich and complex aromas of mature berry fruit and hints of spices. On the palate good fruit flavours, full bodied, excellent round tannins and a long lingering finish." - SFE Tasting Room Team, 2009
