Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
1985 Gould Campbell Port is has a lovely perfumed nose of ripe fruit with powerful aromas of blackberry and hints of dark chocolate and peppery spice.
The grapes for Gould Campbell Ports are drawn from vineyards in the Cima Corgo area of the Douro, where the yields are very low but the wines have immense complexity and depth. A significant proportion of the wines for Gould Campbell Ports are still made in small quintas in the hills around Pinhão, using the ancient method of treading the grapes by foot in stone tanks called lagares.
"The 1985 is one of the surprises of the vintage. It has an intense nose of chocolate, berry fruit, and tar. On the palate, the wine is concentrated, powerful, and full-bodied with layers of fruit. It finishes sweeter than some of the other ports with a great deal of tannin. Score: 89/100." Robert Parker, 1989
Delivery time for this port is 4-6 weeks.
