£247.50 (approx. $391.50)

A Sauternes Blend Sweet White Dessert wine from Sauternes, Bordeaux, France.

1991 was marked by a severe spring frost that seriously reduced the crop. However, the combination of favourable weather and a great terroir produced a delicious, classic vintage.

Concentrated bouquet of orange marmalade and quince with hints of honey and caramel. Starts out quite round, but not overly so thanks to beautiful acidity. Hints of sultanas and linden blossom.

On the whole, this wine is very forward and versatile, delicious with any number of dishes and especially recommended with oysters.

"Yquem's 1991 is a beautifully made, medium gold-colored wine with a gorgeous nose of creme brulee, roasted coffee, and sweet, honeyed pineapple and other assorted fruits. Full-bodied, unctuously-textured, and rich, but not yet revealing a lot of complexity or enormous weight. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2040" - Robert Parker
