Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
1991 Quarles Harris Port is intensely fruity and gloriously smooth.
Quarles Harris have been making and buying wines for centuries from vineyards in the Rio Torto and Pinhão valleys of the Douro. Both have superb microclimates, renowned for the quality of their wines for as long as port has been made. In some of these Quintas the wine continues to be made by the traditional method of foot treading in granite lagares which produces first class port.
The musts of the 1991 vintage showed very good colour and balance and the wines have continued to develop exceptionally well in cask over the last two years. The Quarles Harris 1991 has excellent depth and grip with all the hallmarks of longevity. Due to develop nicely.
"Intense fruit, rich, piquant acidity in 1993 and very high marks at the MW tasting in 1995, svelte, lovely texture, citrus touch to end taste. Score: 3 Stars" - Micheal Broadbent, 1995
