Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
Blandy's 20 year old Terrantez is a fresh and well balanced Madeira.
The 20 Year Old Terrantez was aged for 20 years in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional 'Canteiro' system, whereby the casks of this wine are gradually transferred from the top floors of the lodge, where it is naturally warmer, to the middle floors and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler.
This vintage Madeira is a clear topaz colour, with a golden hue right up to the rim. It has an elegant bouquet of dried fruits, wood and spices. Fresh and medium dry, the wine is balanced by a very fine acidity. It has a long aftertaste of wood, spices and dried fruits.
Blandy's 20 year old Terrantez is fined and does not require decanting. It is excellent as an aperitif but is also exceedingly good with soups, feathered game and pates.
