Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
2008 Au Bon Climat Knox Alexander Pinot Noir is a velvety smooth wine full of berry flavours.
After gathering experience since his twenties Clendenen decided to start his own winery in leased quarters in 1982. Au Bon Climat has grown over its history to over 30,000 cases through careful re-investment from its own production. The winery has cultivated an international reputation for its Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Jim Clendenen is recognised worldwide for his classically-styled wines.
Au Bon Climat sources fruit from several of the most highly regarded vineyards in the Central Coast. These include Clendenen's own Le Bon Climat Vineyard and estate plantings at the legendary Bien Nacido Vineyard - both in Santa Maria Valley, Sanford & Benedict Vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills, Los Alamos Vineyard (Santa Barbara County), and San Luis Obispo County's Talley Vineyard.
The 2008 Knox Alexander Pinot Noir is lush, velvety, creamy, bursting with berries, fragrant flowers, and soft wafts of vanilla, the Knox is a wine for hedonists. Made from 50% Dijon clones and 50% traditional California selections planted by Jim Clendenen at the higher elevations of Bien Nacido Vineyard, this wine seems to grow in stature with every vintage.
