1960s Silk and Crystal Two-Piece Suit

A divine vintage 1960s oyster and shell pink coloured two-piece suit, circa 1965.

This stunning outfit comprises of a sleeveless dress with silk skirt and an exquisitely sequined and crystal-beaded body and a matching silk jacket that sits elegantly over the dress with a high neck and cropped sleeves.

Reminiscent of the embellished twin-sets that enjoyed a revival in the 1950s, this dress and jacket combination is a perfect example of 'Swinging Sixties' eveningwear. Boxy jackets such as this one were made popular by 1960s designer Oleg Cassini, who went on to design hundreds of outfits for first lady Jacqueline Kennedy - including the famous leopard pelt coat and satin gown she wore for her husband's inaugural ball.
