Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
Amazing vintage 1940s black pleated silk dress designed by Jo Copeland for Pattullo.
This dress features a beautiful lace collar embedded with rhinestones; the same lace is then used on the bottom of the sleeves. Incredible tiered layers of pleating are structured with netting underneath. Buttons down the front and zippers up the side.
Jo Copeland designed her beautifully constructed clothing directly on the figure rather than using toiles. Such quality construction required high prices. She was an expert at both cut and detail, which is reflected in this stunning museum quality dress, a piece which emanates the practical elegance and simple sophistication of 1940s fashions.
