Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
A beautiful vintage 1950s cocktail dress designed by Frank Usher. Features a fitted black body and a beautiful full skirt, with an ivory underskirt and sheer black overlay.
Frank Usher first began creating tailor-made dresses in the 1940s. The label took off in the mid-1950s, and today is one of the most covetable names for vintage collectors. His designs took inspiration from the runway and incorporated high-end details to create glamorous and timeless occasion-wear.
The classic 1950s prom silhouette of nipped-in waist and full skirt renders this dress as far removed from the somewhat austere fashions of the 1940s as it's possible to be. After a decade of deprivation, the 1950s embraced the new post-war prosperity by having fun with fashion once more, a feeling that this dress embodies perfectly.
