Beautiful vintage 1960s cabinet in two pieces, designed by Jules Wabbes in 1960 and made by Mobilier Universel, Brussels. The lower section comprises a cupboard with shelving behind hinged doors whilst the upper section consists of further matching shelving. Chrome-plated steel, plywood with rosewood veneer. Fantastic condition.
Belgian designer Jules Wabbes in fact started his career as an actor before moving into the antiques trade and later designing his own pieces. Known for creating pieces of quality with excellent materials, Wabbes was regarded as one of the most talented designers in Belgium at the time.
