Description

A pair of vintage 1950s diamond set 'Cornucopia' earclips set throughout with marquis, baguette and brilliant cut diamonds, mounted in platinum. Of English design and manufacture they date to circa 1955. The total diamond weight is approximately 12cts. In excellent condition.

The 1950s was a period of stylistic innovation after the western world exited World War II. Artists were inspired by flowers, leaves, shells and animals, with a preference for asymmetry and spiky edges. Platinum was often used to show off cascades of diamonds and this pair of earrings is a reflection of the modernity and innovation during this decade.
