Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
Fantastic vintage 1970s Flex 660 floor lamp, designed by Elio Martinelli Luce in 1972. Its structure consists of a flexible spine on a round metal base. The lamp is in a very good original condition, with minor signs of wear to the finish, in its original black colour. Sold with original wiring.
Starting his career as a set designer and contributing to his father's work in the lighting sector, Elio Martinelli moved in to interior design and from this found the need to begin designing his own lighting pieces. Martinelli's designs went in to production in the 1950s and were recognised for their stylish simplicity, taking inspiration from both nature and geometry. Elio Martinelli Luce designs feature in the collections of Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museès des Art Decoratifs in Montreal and the Museum of Art in Philadelphia.
