Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
A handsome vintage 1960s ceiling lamp by Elio Martinelli. Arguably this is one of the finest creations by the highly lauded Italian designer. Martinelli, a graduate of the Institute of the Fine Arts in Florence, applied his talents to set design and interior design before turning his focus to lighting.
His award-winning works evolve around the ideas of simplicity, geometry as well as nature, and he was never afraid to approach a new technique or technology. As such his works continually evolved, but were always of a stylishly simple quality.
This particular piece featured on page 105 of "Repertorio 1950 1980", the foremost publication on Italian furniture design. The stainless steel lamp has been maintained in impeccable condition. The lamp is made with many steel bars expertly folded and curved. The item can host one regular light bulb, and its height is adjustable.
Moreover, it is as beautiful inside as it is on the outside.
