Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
Rare pair of Knoll International armchairs and a sofa by Florence Knoll with new Hallingdal salt 'n' pepper fabric by Kvadrat. Mint condition. Super minimal design with loose cushions.
Florence Knoll studied architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan before the going on to study at the Architectural Association in London and the Armour Institute in Chicago. After working briefly for Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Wallace K. Harrison, Knoll went on to form Knoll Associates with husband and fellow designer Hans Knoll. Her application of design principles in solving space problems were radical departures from the standard furniture design practice in the 1950s, but were quickly adopted by others and remain widely used today.
