Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
Beautiful vintage 1970s custom made table by Belgian artist and designer Frans Van Praet.
The 1970s was distinguished by a strong confluence of creativity and functionalism in furnishing and decor. We already recognise many 1970s furniture designs as icons of mid-century modernism.
1970s design reflected a change from the bright funky furnishings that were omnipresent in the 1960s. In the early 1970s, earth tones and natural textures were in almost home.
Frans Van Praet is a Belgian designer and artist. In 1987 Van Praet was presented with the Design Award from the Ministry of the Flemish Community. His work is inspired by various concepts in furniture design, lighting and glasswork. He works with a range of materials including wood, metal, glass, crystal, plastics, textiles and leather.
This unique table was designed and manufactured in the 1970s for a Belgian client. Made from solid oak, this piece reflects Van Praet's visions of interior design. This large table is suitable for 8-10 person dining.
