Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
The vintage 1950s French table lamp is an incredibly rare piece by modernist designer Jacques Blin. Blin was originally an engineer, taking up pottery in the late 1940s and soon establishing a Parisian pottery business in the following decade.
Blin's early work favoured modelling techniques but he continued to experiment and expand. His signature style of singular colours, glazing and a natural, almost primitive aesthetic are evident in this piece.
A beautiful rustic design, with a body so rich in a golden, tan colour it is almost reminiscent of a fine cognac. The lamp has been preserved in mint condition, with no chips or cracks to the ceramic and metal body. It has been fitted with new shade, new cable and fitting, however, this has not affected the original vintage design or quality.
