Description

A vintage 1960s sideboard, designed by Jos De Mey as part of the Abstrakta series for Belgian furniture manufacturer Van Den Berghe. The design is finished in natural walnut veneer and features four drawers and two sliding doors with shelving compartments as well as copper handles and brass feet to adjust the height. In excellent condition with original stamp on back of door.

With its natural wood design, this sideboard echoes Scandinavian contemporary design, popular in the mid-century. The design movement introduced simple designs with straight lines and no ornamentation as a furniture's usability began to outweigh its decoration. We adore its classic timeless style.
