Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
This 1913 calendar, entitled 'Little Precepts Kalendar', published by A. R. Mowbray & Co. Ltd. in London, is individually signed in dark fountain pen ink by each of the six children of King George V and Queen Mary comprising Edward, Prince of Wales (1894-1972, later King Edward VIII), Prince Albert (1895-1952, later King George VI), Princess Mary (1897-1965, Princess Royal), Prince Henry (1900-1974, later Duke of Gloucester), Prince George (1902-1942, later Duke of Kent) and Prince John (1905-1919). All have signed with their names alone to a clear area of the brown printed paper cover.
A scarce grouping of signatures including the extremely rare example of Prince John. Prince John, the youngest son of King George V and Queen Mary, suffered from epilepsy and was largely kept from the public eye. He died unexpectedly, at the age of 13, on 18th January 1919 following a severe seizure.
The calendar is complete, although the pages and covers are loose. Some slight creasing at the base, not affecting the signatures, otherwise very good condition.
A rare royal memorabilia piece.
