1974 Omega Speedmaster Automatic Mark IV calibre 1045 with day-date, charcoal dial and stainless steel barrel-shaped case.
The Omega Speedmaster was declared the official chronograph of NASA in March 1965, following rigorous trials including heating, freezing and violent shocks.
This is a rare variety of the Omega Speedmaster Automatic Mark IV watch. This 1970s model ref. 176.0012 uses the famous and reliable, True chronograph movement known as the Lemania 5100, which features the chrono (minute hand) counting minutes within a small chrono register instead of all around the dial.
The movement is automatic winding and has a quick set day/date feature, hour register, constant seconds and 24 hour indicator at 12:00. The steel case is in excellent condition for the age of the watch, taking into account the large and thick 42x45x15.6mm case.
These caliber 1045 Lemania 5100 Omega Speedmaster watches have become highly sought after.
