1950s Paavo Tynell Brass & Opaline Pendant Light for Idman
Wonderful vintage 1950s pendant lamp by Finnish light master Paavo Tynell for Idman. Opaline inner shade with signature Tynell brass details, such as the pinholes and the reflector ring at the top of the shade.
Perfect condition.
Lighting designer Paavo Tynell, head designer of Taito Oy, collaborated with architect Alvar Aalto on fixtures for the Paimio sanatorium, Savoy restaurant, and Viipuri library. His best-known works can be found in the Helsinki Lasipalatsi and the UN Secretary-General's office.
