Paul Newman (1925-2008) started his career as an actor, winning an Academy Award and eight nominations.

Newman's diverse interests led him to become a film director, entrepreneur and humanitarian. His achievements were recognised with numerous awards including three Golden globes, an Emmy, and a Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor in 'The Long, Hot Summer' (1958).

Newman's humanitarian work included his food company, Newman's Own, from which Newman donated hundreds of millions of post-tax profits and royalties to charity.

This signed, full colour, photograph measures 8" x 10". It depicts a young Newman, turning to meet the camera, a shaft of light illuminating his face and tussled hair. His autograph, in black ink, swoops diagonally across the bottom left of the page. A small smudge of black ink marks the left border of the page, and is possibly by Newman's hand. The photograph is in excellent condition and retains full depth of colour.
