Originally designed for airline pilots to simultaneously display the exact time in two different time zones. The GMT Master was also worn by many Mercury and Apollo astronauts.
All steel oyster case with a Blue Red (PEPSI) bezel and in excellent condition. Case size (39 x 13 x 47mm). Rare pointed crown guard. Non-"Quick Set" date. Non-sapphire crystal. 25 jewel cal.1560 Rolex Chronometer Grade automatic movement.

Crown guards were introduced in the 1960s. Initially crown guards were pointed in profile until 1964/65, while later models had a more rounded shape (with chapter ring dial).
Featured a small triangle at the tip of the secondary hour hand until the late 1960s, then replaced by a triangle almost twice as large.
