First created in the 1950s, the Rolex Submariner was the first wristwatch in the world designed for the new sport of scuba diving, allowing divers to accurately measure time spent underwater in order to prevent decompression illness.
The Submariner 5513 model was introduced by Rolex in 1962 to replace the 5508 model, and remained in production until 1990. The Submariner 5513 used calibers 1520 and 1530, considered some of the best movements that Rolex ever used.
The Rolex Submariner 5513 was worn by George Lazenby as James Bond in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', and by Roger Moore in 'Live and Let Die' and 'The Man with the Golden Gun'.
