1980s Thierry Mugler Houndstooth Jacket

Gorgeous wool hounds-tooth vintage jacket, clearly inspired by a classic riding style from the late 1940s. The tailoring throughout is impeccable. Closure via three press studs to front. Fully lined. Bold shoulders. Truly amazing cut-out to the left hip which illustrates perfectly, the unique talents of Mr Mugler.

Thierry Mugler created his first personal collection in 1973. Mugler, along with Claude Montana and Azzedine Alaïa, was know for his high fashion 'dominatrix' style, with a typical silhouette of an exaggerate 1950s hourglass shape. With a vast range from space age dresses to ball gowns, Mugler was best known for his exquisitely cut suits.
