Curating a Heritage Lifestyle
Fantastic vintage 1970s Relaxer 2 lounger by Verner Panton, in excellent condition. In natural beech and a multicolored denim-style fabric, the bright, popping colours are typical of Panton's designs, who championed the use of psychedelic and exuberant colours.
Considered to be one of Denmark's most influential designers, Panton created totally innovative, futuristic pieces. After studying architecture at the Danish Royal Academy of Art, Panton went on to work for fellow Danish architect and furniture designer Arne Jacobsen, before going on to create his own design and architectural office. Panton quickly became known for his unconventional designs, including his famous stacking 'S' chair, which went on to become his most iconic and mass-produced piece.
This colourful lounger is a simple, elegant and striking example of Panton's incredibly forward-thinking design aesthetic.
