1950s Van Der Meeren Blue & White Wardrobe

Large vintage 1950s van der Meeren wardrobe featuring original blue and refinished white metal sliding doors, sapelli handles and sides. Designed by Willy van der Meeren for Tubax.

The interior has one shelf with hanging rail underneath.

In good condition. The sides have been refinished. Some normal signs of use on the woodwork and paint. Key is not available.

Belgian architect and interior designer Willy van der Meeren was a champion of both simplicity and functionality in design. His collaboration with Tubax in the 1950s, a manufacturer who pioneered Modernism in Belgium, was a natural fit. Van der Meeren created many pieces for Tubax including several different versions of the minimalist yet colourful wardrobe seen here.
