As well as being a member of one of the 20th century’s most iconic rock bands, Wood has latterly established himself as a critically acclaimed artist. In this new limited edition series, Wood has hand-painted the dials and internal cases of Bremont’s B1 Marine Clock.
“I have always loved my timepieces and now I have the opportunity to thoroughly indulge myself with Bremont,” Wood said. “I feel there will be a magnificent opportunity through my art to show what has influenced me throughout my life, which include my water heritage, my well documented life in music and of course my abiding passion for horses.”
Ronnie’s subjects have ranged from band members and musicians, to family and close friends, but never before has he combined his passion for art and horology.
As well as featuring his bespoke painting designs, these hand-made clocks boast sophisticated marine technology, three time zones, waterproof casing and a 30-day power reserve.
Giles English, who co-founded Bremont with his brother Nick in 2003, said working with Wood brought a fresh perspective to their watchmaking: “This is a unique collaboration where we have brought artesian clock-making and fine-art together to make a truly beautiful object.”
Ronnie, Nick and Giles will unveil the first clock at Salon QP at the Saatchi Gallery on Thursday.
